2023 Hunting Season - A Bust or Just Me?
The 2023 hunting season turned out to be quite the challenge. I experienced a combination of adverse weather conditions and an alarmingly low animal count, resulting in poor hunting prospects for me this year. It was a bit disheartening to witness the lack of animal activity, I didn't even lay eyes on a dead deer on the side of the road throughout the entire hunting season. We did see good activity on route to our elk camp... quite a number of Moose and Whitetails but not nearly as many as usual. Most people I've chatted with had a similar experience, although most of us did manage to put some meat in the freezer... it just wasn't the same out there as previous years. It did, however, give me a nice push to continue to refine my mobile hunting setup so I can get deeper in with relative ease. I'm already excited for next season but I'm going to focus on today so I don't miss anything along the way.
How was your season? I would love to hear some success stories.
Yes, we will be revisiting where we had the most answers to our calls…If I may say :) We are currently planing our routes with maps and gps.
